Thunder Edge Winter Training Sessions

Take your game to the next level!  Minnesota Thunder Academy’s Thunder Edge Training Sessions offer professional training for all players at all skill levels in a fun and challenging age-appropriate environment. All sessions are held indoors throughout the Winter.

Thunder Strike: Focuses on all aspects of striking the ball properly.  Learn appropriate technique and basic-to-advanced mechanics which will improve power, accuracy, quicker approaches and the ability to strike the ball in different ways. The sessions are progressive for all players at all skill levels. 

Thunder Skills & Advanced Skills: Focuses on all aspects of ball control with the ultimate goal of becoming one with the ball. Being a great dribbler/passer and understanding how your mind and feet work with the ball are essential skills which provide creative players the ability to dictate their own decisions on the field. Our program focuses on dribbling moves, control, speed, ability to change direction quickly and gaining confidence with the ball at your feet – all while seeing the field around you. This will be done through many repetitive touches on the ball: significant juggling/dribbling techniques, small confined technical games and small-sided open play, etc.

NEW: U13+ programming will be split in two groups Skills/Strike & Adv Skills/Adv Strike, based on current play level and previous experience.  In the past, all players trained together regardless of ability. Now, players will be placed into two different groups depending on their current playing level and experience.

The reason for this is to:

• Ensure players are training at the right pace for their ability.
• Allow newer or developing players to focus on building strong fundamentals without feeling overwhelmed.
• Give more experienced players advanced challenges that push them further.
• Create a better overall training environment for all participants.
