Player Pathway

Thunder Sparks is just the beginning of your child’s soccer journey with Minnesota Thunder Academy. After completing this introduction, players can continue developing their skills in our Thunderbolts Program (ages 5–7).

• Thunder Sparks (Ages 2–4): Parent-and-child sessions that focus on fun, comfort, and early movement skills.

• Thunderbolts (Ages 5–7): Independent player sessions that introduce more structured training, age-appropriate drills, and small-sided games — building on the foundation from Sparks while developing confidence on their own.

This clear pathway helps families see how their child can grow with MTA, from their very first kick to more advanced levels of play.  By mastering the basics in these two programs, players are well-prepared to transition into our U8 Crossover & Juniors Programming and beyond. This progression ensures that each child continues to grow in confidence, skill, and love for the game as they advance through more competitive levels of soccer.
